Jesus is revered as a miracle worker and Son of God by his followers. Judas observes this development and comments on the goings-on from a critical distance. Above all, he mocks Jesus' acquaintance with Mary Magdalene. Because of Jesus' ever-increasing popularity, the priests, especially Caiaphas and Annas, decide that Jesus should die.

Jesus and his disciples enter Jerusalem. Pontius Pilate, governor of the local Roman emperor, dreams that he is guilty of the blood of someone he does not know. Simon Zelotes, one of Jesus' disciples, tries to use the opportunity for an uprising, to stir up hatred of Rome and to seize power.

At the Last Supper, Jesus predicts Judas' betrayal and his worldly end. In the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus seeks refuge in prayer out of desperation, he is betrayed by Judas. Jesus is arrested and taken to prison.
After Peter denies him, Jesus is taken to Pilate for interrogation before subsequently being mocked by Herod, the local king appointed by Rome.
Judas feels guilty and hangs himself. Jesus is put on trial, mocked, and ultimately scourged. The people demand that Pilate crucify Jesus. Judas' voice, his questioning, has long outlasted his death. Jesus dies on the cross.
